The cyber security course of Robert Gordon University in the UK is accredited by a UK government agency
Robert Gordon University’s program is one of only three accredited universities in Scotland, which indicates that their master’s program meets the common cyber security standards of NCSC accreditation.
As a graduate of Computer Science’s Master of Cyber Security of the Robert Gordon University School, successfully completing the course can now earn a second certificate, which is jointly awarded by the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Robert Gordon University (RGU).
Dr. John Isaacs, Dean of the School of Computer Science, said, “It is truly a remarkable achievement that our master’s program in cyber security was fully accredited by the NCSC. Globally, cyber attacks and general security issues continue to rise, becoming more prominent during COVID-19 and after working at home. The need for graduates with cyber security expertise is now more urgent than ever. Our cyber security courses are extremely important for students to gain important, industry-oriented skills and expertise. This certificate reinforces the relevance of the curriculum content and the standards that we offered.”
NSCS vice Director of Network Development said: “I am pleased to see that RGU’s cyber security statement has been endorsed by NCSC. “The ability to pursue accredited degree programs can provide students with more informed choices about their future career prospects in cyber security, and employers could safely receive well-educated graduates with valuable industry skills.”
Robert Gordon University works closely with industry and professional institutions in the design, accreditation and delivery of courses to ensure that the courses meet the needs of practitioners and future employers, thus providing students with a sturdy basis for successful careers in this field.
Cyber security is one of the fastest growing professions in the world, and the MSc in cyber security from Robert Gordon University helps students build their future in this fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry. Students will learn how to design and maintain secure information systems and networks, and will gain knowledge and skills to prevent, protect, and minimize cyber security threats and incidents.
The program is also accredited by the British Computer Society, the Chartered Institute of Information Technology and the Council of the European Union, which is the main IT and e-business accreditation body.
